What to bring for your fishing trip

Dear Fishermen, Thank you for choosing Caesar’s North Camps. You will be traveling by seaplane during your stay with us.
Please remember that you are allowed 100 lbs. per person of luggage… Thank you !

Things to bring

  • General things to bring in your fly-in fishing trip
    • Fishing nets & stringers or ropes for fish caught
    • Fishing rods (1 extra per group)
    • Small tackle box
    • One pair of boots for boat or trails
    • Rain Gear
    • One jacket
    • Sleeping bags & pillows
    • Worms (available when you register in)
    • Cooler (1 or 2 for 4 people. Max 25” is best)
    • Boat cushions
    • Life jackets (Mandatory)
    • One duffle bag of clothes per person
    • Spare ropes (for anchor or other…)

  • Good tips to have a better fly-in fishing trip
    • Bring concentrated juices
    • Pack food in medium size boxes not plastic bags
    • Use plastic tubes for your rods (not too long)
    • Plan food together with all the people in your party
    • Weight your own gear at home before coming
    • Cash only accepted on arrival
    • Please do not bring guns unless you are on one of our hunting packages, permits are needed and you will scare away moose that we need!

  • Don’t Forget !
    • U.S.A. clients need a passport to get into Canada  or a special border pass
    • Using your cell phone while driving a car in Canada is against the law unless it’s a hands free cell phone

  • Too much beer (cans weigh less)
  • Battery 12 volts
  • Propane stove
  • Too much canned food
  • Jumbo large bags of clothes
  • Huge boxes and coolers
  • Hand guns illegal, rifles need border permits
  • Fresh vegetables or fruit (border will not except)
  • Dirt (pack worms with paper packing for border)

Other useful informations

  • Passeports are required to enter Canada
  • Fishing limits on the Gouin Reservoir are 8 walleyes & 10 pikes
  • These are the links to the web sites for the “Rehabilitation For Persons Who Are Inadmissible to Canada Because of Past Criminal Activity” :
  • Deposits required are 300$ per fisherman or 400$ per hunter.
    • If you can’t make it, your deposit is not refundable or transferable but will be applicable for the next 3 years.
    • For deposits, we accept Visa, MasterCard or personal check.
  • For balance of payment in Clova cash only is permitted.
  • If you wish to pay for your trip before arrival, you need to do it a least one month before you arrive.

Airplane List

  • If you can’t fit in the weight permitted or if you want to bring all the gear and beer you wish, we provide overload planes for your convenience. There are 2 options:
    • Overload less then 300 lbs : cost 300.00$ divided by the number of people in your group ex: 300$/4 = 75$ if 6 per = 50$
    • This overload will be flown to you the same day or the next day
    • Overload from 301 to 600 lbs : cost 600.00$ divided by the number of people in your group ex: 600$/4 = 150$ each if 6per = 100$ each
    • This overload will be fly to you the same day

 

  • Airplaine Regulations:
  • (What is NOT allowed on a plane by Transport Canada)
    • Bear Spray prohibited
    • Firework prohibited
    • Matches and zippo prohibited (you are allowed to carry a lighter is prohibited)
    • Aerosol must besealed and in a box
    • Ammunition must be carried separately in your luggage
    • 12 volts battery must be carried in a box with the right ”tag” (we have one for you if needed)
    • Smaller 1 lb propane must be in a box with packing in conformance of TDGR
